The Commission may submit a request to the Legislative Commission that the Legislative Auditor be directed to undertake, or to contract with a qualified accounting firm to undertake, a special audit or investigation of the activities of any state agency, board, bureau, commission or political subdivision in connection with the taxation, operation, safety and environmental regulation of mines and mining in this State.\n2.
