{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-598.9808","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 598.9808","heading":"“Solar installation company” defined.","body":"1. “Solar installation company” means any form of business organization or any other nongovernmental legal entity, including, without limitation, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization, that holds a license issued pursuant to chapter 624 of NRS which authorizes the performance of work concerning a distributed generation system and, directly or indirectly, on its own behalf or on behalf of another:\n(a) Performs or offers to perform any work concerning a distributed generation system;\n(b) Advertises, solicits or offers to enter into an agreement for the purchase or lease of a distributed generation system or a power purchase agreement; or\n(c) Transacts business to:\n(1) Sell and install a distributed generation system; or\n(2) Install a distributed generation system owned by a third party from whom the customer:\n(I) Leases a distributed generation system; or\n(II) Purchases electricity generated by a distributed generation system.\n2. The term does not include a person who generates leads or referrals to perform work concerning a distributed generation system for persons who hold a license issued pursuant to chapter 624 of NRS authorizing the performance of such work, if such activity is limited to:\n(a) Collecting only the name, contact information and information concerning the power bill of a prospective purchaser or lessee;\n(b) Serving as the source of a referral;\n(c) Providing the contact information of a person who holds a license issued pursuant to chapter 624 of NRS to a prospective purchaser or lessee;\n(d) Setting up appointments on behalf of a person who holds a license issued pursuant to chapter 624 of NRS; or\n(e) Advertising only through print media and not through any electronic means, including, without limitation, through a mobile application, Internet website, online service, electronic mail or any other form of electronic media.","path":["TITLE 52 — TRADE REGULATIONS AND PRACTICES","CHAPTER 598 - DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES","DISTRIBUTED GENERATION SYSTEMS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-598.html#NRS598Sec9808","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:43Z","sha256":"a2e83853c7860e0183265549b2133c3e432ab8d978d04e569403fdcdd8b4b9ef","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-598.98075","next":"us-nv/nrs-598.98083"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
