{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-604a.057","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 604A.057","heading":"“Dependent” defined.","body":"“Dependent” means:\n1. The spouse of a covered service member;\n2. A child of a covered service member who:\n(a) Is less than 21 years of age;\n(b) Is less than 23 years of age and is enrolled in a full-time course of study at an institution of higher learning and is in fact dependent on the covered service member for over one-half of the child’s support; or\n(c) Is incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical incapacity that occurred while the child was a person described by paragraph (a) or (b);\n3. A parent or parent-in-law of a covered service member who is in fact dependent on the covered service member for over one-half of his or her support and who resides in the household of the covered service member;\n4. An unmarried person who:\n(a) Is placed in the legal custody of the covered service member as a result of an order of a court of competent jurisdiction for a period of at least 12 consecutive months;\n(b) Is:\n(1) Less than 21 years of age;\n(2) Less than 23 years of age and is enrolled in a full-time course of study at an institution of higher learning and is in fact dependent on the covered service member for over one-half of the person’s support; or\n(3) Incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical incapacity that occurred while the person was a person described by subparagraph (1) or (2);\n(c) Is dependent on the covered service member for over one-half of the person’s support;\n(d) Resides with the covered service member unless separated by the necessity of military service or to receive institutional care as a result of disability or incapacitation or under such other circumstances as the Commissioner may prescribe; and\n(e) Is not a dependent of a covered service member under subsection 1, 2 or 3.","path":["TITLE 52 — TRADE REGULATIONS AND PRACTICES","CHAPTER 604A - DEFERRED DEPOSIT LOANS, HIGH-INTEREST LOANS, TITLE LOANS AND CHECK-CASHING SERVICES","GENERAL PROVISIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-604A.html#NRS604ASec057","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:43Z","sha256":"c179e9fe8c2432b9a69c6e2593f09e0afc0c20b6f507c71ae830c440366ac4d9","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-604a.055","next":"us-nv/nrs-604a.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
