{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-641b.280--2","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 641B.280","heading":"Renewal of license: Application; fee; continuing education. [Effective July 1, 2026.]","body":"1. Every holder of a license issued pursuant to this chapter may renew his or her license annually by:\n(a) Applying to the Board for renewal;\n(b) Paying the annual renewal fee set by the Board;\n(c) Except as otherwise provided in NRS 641B.295, submitting evidence to the Board of completion of the required continuing education as set forth in regulations adopted by the Board; and\n(d) Submitting all information required to complete the renewal.\n2. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 641B.295, the Board shall, as a prerequisite for the renewal of a license, require the holder to comply with the requirements for continuing education adopted by the Board, which must include, without limitation, a requirement that every 2 years the holder receive at least 6 hours of instruction relating to cultural competency and diversity, equity and inclusion. Such instruction:\n(a) May include the training provided pursuant to NRS 449.103 or 449B.280, where applicable.\n(b) Must be based upon a range of research from diverse sources.\n(c) Must address persons of different cultural backgrounds, including, without limitation:\n(1) Persons from various gender, racial and ethnic backgrounds;\n(2) Persons from various religious backgrounds;\n(3) Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning persons;\n(4) Children and senior citizens;\n(5) Veterans;\n(6) Persons with a mental illness;\n(7) Persons with an intellectual disability, developmental disability or physical disability; and\n(8) Persons who are part of any other population that the holder of a license issued pursuant to this chapter may need to better understand, as determined by the Board.","path":["TITLE 54 — PROFESSIONS, OCCUPATIONS AND BUSINESSES","CHAPTER 641B - SOCIAL WORKERS","LICENSES"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-641B.html","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:45Z","sha256":"cf3e0f94d2c064ba2baa53160f5537e414abfbc7e9f7c1aeae31c702a36f1b62","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-641b.280","next":"us-nv/nrs-641b.281"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
