A person who:\n(a) Is not less than 21 years of age;\n(b) Has received a master’s degree or a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in a field of social science approved by the Board;\n(c) Has completed 3,000 hours of supervised counseling of persons with alcohol and other substance use disorders;\n(d) Passes the written and oral examinations prescribed by the Board pursuant to NRS 641C.290;\n(e) Pays the fees required pursuant to NRS 641C.470; and\n(f) Submits all information required to complete an application for a license.\n2. A person who:\n(a) Is not less than 21 years of age;\n(b) Is:\n(1) Licensed as a clinical social worker pursuant to chapter 641B of NRS;\n(2) Licensed as a clinical professional counselor pursuant to chapter 641A of NRS;\n(3) Licensed as a marriage and family therapist pursuant to chapter 641A of NRS;\n(4) A nurse who is licensed pursuant to chapter 632 of NRS and has received a master’s degree or a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university; or\n(5) Licensed as a clinical alcohol and drug counselor pursuant to this chapter;\n(c) Has completed 1,000 hours of supervised counseling of persons with alcohol and other substance use disorders approved by the Board;\n(d) Passes the written and oral examinations prescribed by the Board pursuant to NRS 641C.290;\n(e) Pays the fees required pursuant to NRS 641C.470; and\n(f) Submits all information required to complete an application for a license.","path":["TITLE 54 — PROFESSIONS, OCCUPATIONS AND BUSINESSES","CHAPTER 641C - ALCOHOL, DRUG AND GAMBLING COUNSELORS","LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES","License As Alcohol and Drug Counselor"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-641C.html#NRS641CSec350","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:45Z","sha256":"f16a806022704ce61a68d66ad284dae7fcb86134eea5b55e6e6451c126b7cddd","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-641c.340","next":"us-nv/nrs-641c.356"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
