Each licensee under this chapter shall file with the Commissioner on or before March 1 of each year an annual statement containing such information as the Commissioner prescribes by regulation. Pursuant to subsection 7 of NRS 679B.190, the Commissioner shall classify as confidential any information received pursuant to this subsection that is:\n(a) Data of individual transactions in the business of viatical settlements; or\n(b) Data that could compromise the privacy of personal, financial or health information of a viator or insured.\n2. Except as allowed or required by a statute other than this chapter, a provider or broker of viatical settlements, an investment agent, an insurer, a producer of insurance, an information bureau, a rating agency or any other person knowing the identity of an insured shall not disclose that identity as an insured to any other person unless the disclosure is:\n(a) Necessary to effect a viatical settlement between the viator and a provider of viatical settlements and the viator and the insured have given prior written consent to the disclosure;\n(b) Necessary to effect an agreement for the purchase of a viatical settlement between the purchaser and a provider of viatical settlements, and the viator and the insured have given prior written consent to the disclosure;\n(c) Furnished in response to an investigation or examination by the Commissioner or another governmental officer or agency;\n(d) A term of or condition to the transfer of a policy by one provider of viatical settlements to another provider; or\n(e) Necessary to permit a financing agent to finance the purchase of a policy by a provider of viatical settlements and the insured has given prior written consent to the disclosure.","path":["TITLE 57 — INSURANCE","CHAPTER 688C - VIATICAL SETTLEMENTS","LICENSING; REGULATION"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-688C.html#NRS688CSec230","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:46Z","sha256":"7f6811cbaaf59c80a81c6b2d48a5b37c3059b4082d99b15e40b6e2765b4f8970","source_id":"us-nv","stale":true,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-688c.220","next":"us-nv/nrs-688c.240"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
