{"data":{"id":"us-nv/nrs-704.7818","jurisdiction":"us-nv","citation":"NRS 704.7818","heading":"“Retail customer” defined.","body":"1. “Retail customer” means an end-use customer that purchases electricity for consumption in this state.\n2. The term includes, without limitation:\n(a) This state, a political subdivision of this state or an agency or instrumentality of this state or political subdivision of this state when it is an end-use customer that purchases electricity for consumption in this state, including, without limitation, when it is an eligible customer that purchases electricity for consumption in this state from a provider of new electric resources pursuant to the provisions of chapter 704B of NRS.\n(b) A residential, commercial or industrial end-use customer that purchases electricity for consumption in this state, including, without limitation, an eligible customer that purchases electricity for consumption in this state from a provider of new electric resources pursuant to the provisions of chapter 704B of NRS.\n(c) A landlord of a manufactured home park or mobile home park or owner of a company town who is subject to any of the provisions of NRS 704.905 to 704.960, inclusive.\n(d) A landlord who pays for electricity that is delivered through a master meter and who distributes or resells the electricity to one or more tenants for consumption in this state.\n(e) An end-use member that purchases electricity for consumption in this state from a cooperative association, nonprofit corporation, nonprofit association or provider of electric service which is declared to be a public utility pursuant to NRS 704.675 and which provides service only to its members.","path":["TITLE 58 — ENERGY; PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SIMILAR ENTITIES","CHAPTER 704 - REGULATION OF PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERALLY","ELECTRIC SERVICE","Portfolio Standard"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-704.html#NRS704Sec7818","current_through":"2025 session (NRS as revised 2026-08-25)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T05:51:47Z","sha256":"fa55521d3fc12f80e9ea8f8b1d3745dcb4353639e46ce78bcab838926a528d2d","source_id":"us-nv","stale":false,"prev":"us-nv/nrs-704.7815","next":"us-nv/nrs-704.7819"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
