Procedure for abandoning storage reservoir.\n  In connection with the abondonment of any underground storage\nreservoir for which a permit has been granted pursuant to this article\nor in connection with the revocation of any such permit, the department\nshall require the premises to be placed in a condition which, to the\nextent practicable, shall assure the continuance of the same in a\ncondition which does not constitute a menace to the present or future\nhealth or safety of persons, or safety or value of property. In case the\noperator shall fail to put the premises in a satisfactory condition\nprior to any such abondonment or immediately upon revocation of a\npermit, the department may do or cause to be done all things necessary\nto place the premises in satisfactory condition and the operator shall\nbe liable for the cost.","path":["Environmental Conservation Law","Article 23.
