For the purposes of this part, the following terms\nshall mean and include:\n  1. \"Board of supervisors.\" The board of supervisors or other elective\ngoverning body of a county.\n  2. \"Charter law.\" A local law providing, amending or repealing a\ncounty charter, or transferring a function or a duty pursuant to section\nthirty-three-a of this chapter.\n  3. \"County.\" A county of the state except a county in the city of New\nYork.\n  4. \"County charter.\" An alternative form of county government provided\nin accordance with the constitution by act of the legislature or local\nlaw.\n  5. \"Local law.\" A local law adopted by the board of supervisors of a\ncounty pursuant to this chapter or other statute generally empowering\nthe county to adopt local laws.","path":["Municipal Home Rule","Article 4.
