Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter or any\nother state or local law to the contrary, an elected county, city, town,\nor village official may continue in a current term of such elective\noffice at the time of their retirement from another position of public\nservice.  Retention of such elective office, limitation on earnings\nand/or reduction or suspension of retirement payments shall be subject\nto the same terms and conditions for re-employment in public service\nimposed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and/or the provisions\nof the civil service law.","path":["Retirement \u0026 Social Security Law","Article 7.
