Code § 20-724","heading":"§ 20-724 Requirements of records.","body":"Any such person, firm, corporation or association or agent, or employee thereof, doing business in New York city, making any one or more of the aforesaid statements, claims, offers, or representations of the types described in subdivisions (a), (b) and (c) of section 20-723 shall maintain full and adequate records disclosing the facts upon which any such statements, offers, claims or representations are based.\n\n(a) All such records shall be open and available for inspection to the commissioner or to his or her duly designated representatives for a period of ninety days from the date of the offer.\n\n(b) The failure of any such person, firm, corporation or association, or agent or employee thereof doing business in New York city to produce such records in substantiation of its claims shall be presumptive of the falsity of the advertisement.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 20","Chapter 5: Unfair Trade Practices"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"f6e841169ed0d68eff5dd2ea93b2597bc85db7d2e2cfafdf8654ac6722fd06bb","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":false,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-20-723.3","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-20-725"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
