Code § 27-2094","heading":"§ 27-2094 Inspection of one- and two-family dwellings; voluntary registration of owner-occupant.","body":"a. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the department, its officers or inspectors, shall have no authority to inspect a one- or two-family dwelling, at least one dwelling unit of which is owner-occupied, for violations of this code, unless the department has received a signed complaint relating to conditions in such dwelling or has a warrant for such inspection.\n\nb. The owner of a one- or two-family dwelling who occupies a dwelling unit in such dwelling, may notify the department of such owner-occupancy, without payment of a fee, by filing a form to be prescribed by the department including the following information:\n\n(1) An identification of the premises by street number or by such other description as will enable the department to locate the dwelling; and\n\n(2) An identification of the owner by name, residence and business address; and\n\n(3) A statement that he or she is the owner-occupant of the premises.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 27","Chapter 2: Housing Maintenance Code"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"ff32d012e2ef3aa821c83b31ea4c8d314014f29e5628a2d2b311a97e3029e061","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":true,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-27-2093.1","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-27-2095"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
