Code § 28-105.2","heading":"§ 28-105.2 Classification of work permits.","body":"For the purposes of this code, work permits shall be classified as follows:\n\n1. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNew building permits: for the construction of new buildings, including as provided for in section 28-101.4.5.\n\n2. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAlteration permits: for the alteration of buildings or structures, including new and existing sign structures and partial demolition in conjunction with such building or structure.\n\n3. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFoundation and earthwork permits: for the construction or alteration of foundations, including earthwork, excavation, fill, and foundation insulation.\n\n4. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEarthwork permits: for work solely involving earthwork, excavation, or fill operations.\n\n5. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFull demolition permits: for the full demolition and removal of buildings or structures.\n\n6. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPlumbing permits: for the installation or alteration of plumbing and plumbing systems, including gas piping. Such permits shall include permits for limited plumbing alterations.\n\n7. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign permits: for the erection, installation, display or alteration of signs.\n\n8. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tService equipment permits: for the installation or alteration of service equipment, including but not limited to air conditioning and ventilating systems, boilers, elevators, escalators, moving walkways, dumbwaiters, mobile boilers and mobile oil tanks. Such permits shall include permits for limited oil-burning appliance alterations.\n\n9. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTemporary construction installation permits: for the erection, installation and use of temporary construction installations to facilitate construction and/or safety during construction, including but not limited to temporary fences, railings, catch platforms, over-the-sidewalk chutes, footbridges, sidewalk sheds, and scaffolds.\n\n10. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFire protection and suppression system permits: for the installation and alteration of fire protection and suppression systems, including sprinkler systems and standpipe systems. Such permits shall include permits for limited sprinkler alterations and limited standpipe alterations.\n\n11. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCrane and derrick permits: for the use of power-operated cranes and derricks during construction.\n\n12. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTemporary structure permits and temporary use authorizations: for temporary structures and uses, see article 111.\n\n13. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tElectrical permits: for electrical work other than low voltage electrical work.
