Code § 3-182","heading":"§ 3-182 Outreach to cosmetologists.","body":"a. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDefinitions. For the purposes of this section, the term \"cosmetologist\" means an individual who practices \"cosmetology\" as defined in subdivision 7 of section 400 of the general business law.\n\nb. The office shall conduct regular outreach to cosmetologists and post information on its website regarding the availability of resources related to domestic violence. Such outreach shall include, but not be limited to the following:\n\n1. Connecting cosmetologists to trainings conducted by the office;\n\n2. Making available online a toolkit tailored to cosmetology that includes, but need not be limited to, information on recognizing signs of domestic violence in clients; and\n\n3. Providing cosmetologists with information about resources available for victims of domestic violence across the five boroughs.\n\nc. No later than November 1, 2019, and no later than November 1 annually thereafter, the office shall submit to the mayor and speaker of the council and post on its website a summary of outreach efforts to the cosmetology community, including the number of trainings provided for cosmetologists, disaggregated by borough, and any other factors that may be appropriate.\n\nd. The office shall create a poster that includes information regarding services available in the city to address gender-based violence, including, but not limited to, free hotline services. Such poster shall be provided to cosmetology establishments at no cost and shall be made available in each of the designated citywide languages, as such term is defined in section 23-1101. The office shall provide minimum requirements for cosmetology establishments that choose to design and print their own poster.\n\ne. Every cosmetology establishment shall post in a conspicuous place, easily visible to all customers, a poster created pursuant to subdivision d of this section in a language of their choice.*\n\n(L.L. 2019/039, 2/24/2019, eff. 6/24/2019; Am.
