Code § 3-209.2","heading":"§ 3-209.2 Distribution of college-savings plan materials in schools.","body":"a. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDefinitions. For the purposes of this section:\n\nDepartment. The term \"department\" means the department of education.\n\nSchool. The term \"school\" means a public school of the city school district of the city of New York that contains any combination of grades from and including pre-kindergarten through grade twelve.\n\nb. The department shall develop educational materials regarding college savings plans. At a minimum, such materials shall include the following:\n\n1. Information regarding college savings programs available to students and their family members including, but not limited to, New York's 529 college savings program;\n\n2. Information regarding tuition at colleges under the authority of the city university of New York and at colleges under the authority of the state university of New York and financial aid eligibility; and\n\n3. Information regarding other resources available to parents and students regarding financial planning for post-secondary education, including education at colleges, universities and vocational schools.\n\nc. Such materials shall be produced and distributed by the department to each school for distribution to every student of such school upon his or her entry into pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, grade six and grade nine and to every student upon his or her entry into a school as a new student, and such materials shall be made available in English and in additional languages as determined by the department.\n\nd. The department shall ensure that materials developed pursuant to subdivision b of this section are provided to all schools in sufficient quantity to satisfy the requirements of subdivisions c and e of this section.\n\ne.
