Flexible cords or cables accessible to the public shall be arranged to minimize the tripping hazard and shall be covered with nonconductive matting secured to the walkway surface or protected with another approved cable protection method, provided that the matting or other protection method does not constitute a greater tripping hazard than the uncovered cables. Burying cables shall be permitted. Buried cables shall be identified at the surface.
