{"data":{"id":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-6-129.1","jurisdiction":"us-nyc","citation":"N.Y.C. Admin. Code § 6-129.1","heading":"§ 6-129.1 Nondiscrimination in public contracting.","body":"a. For purposes of this section, the term \"contract\" means any agreement, purchase order or other instrument whereby the city is committed to expend or does expend funds in return for goods, services or construction.\n\nb. It is unlawful for an agency to deny a contract because of the actual or perceived race, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or alienage or citizenship status of the owners of the bidder or proposer.\n\nc. This section does not prohibit any agency from giving preference in the award of a contract to bidders or proposers owned by persons protected by the provisions of this section, when such preference is required or permitted by any law or regulation of the United States, the state of New York or the city of New York.\n\nd.
