Code § BC 2210","heading":"Section BC 2210: Cold-Formed Steel","body":"2210.1 General.\n\nThe design of cold-formed carbon and low-alloy steel structural members shall be in accordance with AISI S100. The design of cold-formed stainless-steel structural members shall be in accordance with ASCE 8. Cold-formed steel light-frame construction shall comply with Section 2211. Where required, the seismic design of cold-formed steel structures shall be in accordance with the additional provisions of Section 2210.2.\n\n2210.1.1 Steel decks.\n\nThe design and construction of cold-formed steel decks shall be in accordance with this section.\n\n2210.1.1.1 Noncomposite steel floor decks.\n\nNoncomposite steel floor decks shall be permitted to be designed and constructed in accordance with ANSI/SDI-NC.\n\n2210.1.1.2 Steel roof deck.\n\nSteel roof decks shall be permitted to be designed and constructed in accordance with ANSI/SDI-RD.\n\n2210.1.1.3 Composite slabs on steel decks.\n\nComposite slabs of concrete and steel deck shall be permitted to be designed and constructed in accordance with SDI-C.\n\n2210.2 Seismic requirements for cold-formed steel structures.\n\nWhere a response modification coefficient, R, in accordance with Table 1613.5, is used for the design of cold-formed steel structures, the structures shall be designed and detailed in accordance with the requirements of AISI S100, ASCE 8, or, for cold-formed steel special-bolted moment frames, AISI S400.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 28","Chapter 7: New York City Building Code"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"cbaeb0cdcdf179324b52b6c4937c9bd0d5e4d6a9e3222e15b782ae7fed2bde06","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":false,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-bc-2209","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-bc-2211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
