Code § FC 2501","heading":"Section FC 2501: General","body":"2501.1 Scope.\n\nThis chapter shall govern the design, installation, operation and maintenance of facilities in which ethylene gas is used, other than in self-contained equipment, to promote the ripening of fruits, vegetables and other crops.\n\nException: Mixtures of ethylene and one or more inert gases in concentrations which prevent the gas from reaching greater than 25 percent of the lower explosive limit (LEL) when released to the atmosphere.\n\n2501.2 Permits.\n\nPermits shall be required as set forth in FC 105.6.\n\n2501.3 Ethylene generators.\n\nApproved ethylene generators shall be operated and maintained in accordance with FC 2506.\n\n2501.4 General.\n\nFacilities using ethylene gas to promote the ripening of fruits, vegetables and other crops shall be designed, installed, operated and maintained in accordance with this chapter.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 29","Chapter 2: New York City Fire Code"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"35701e4e93535bf2d81bf00751fda128cd2b3879948575489aea12d6c61a29cf","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":true,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-2410","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-2502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
