Code § FC 3205","heading":"Section FC 3205: Housekeeping and Maintenance","body":"3205.1 Rack structures.\n\nThe structural integrity of racks shall be maintained.\n\n3205.2 Ignition sources.\n\nClearance from ignition sources shall be provided in accordance with FC 305.\n\n3205.3 Smoking.\n\nSmoking is prohibited in high-piled storage areas. \"No Smoking\" signs complying with the requirements of FC 310 shall be conspicuously posted in such areas.\n\n3205.4 Aisle maintenance.\n\nWhen restocking is not being conducted, aisles shall be kept clear of stored or waste material. Fire department access doors, aisles and exit doors shall not be obstructed. During restocking operations using manual stocking methods, a minimum unobstructed aisle width of 24 inches (610 mm) shall be maintained in 48-inch (1219-mm) or smaller aisles, and a minimum unobstructed aisle width of one-half of the required aisle width shall be maintained in aisles greater than 48 inches (1219 mm). During mechanical stocking operations, a minimum unobstructed aisle width of 44 inches (1118 mm) shall be maintained \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin accordance with FC 3206.9.\n\n3205.5 Pile dimension and height limitations.\n\nPile dimensions and height limitations shall comply with the requirements of FC 3207.3.\n\n3205.6 Arrays.\n\nArrays shall comply with the requirements of FC 3207.4.\n\n3205.7 Flue spaces.\n\nFlue spaces shall comply with the requirements of FC 3208.3.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 29","Chapter 2: New York City Fire Code"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"37b506c922a6429818ec4b48c7578366d61007e449844d4a8438619799dd95ce","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":false,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-3204","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-3206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
