Code § FC 6107","heading":"Section FC 6107: Safety Precautions and Devices","body":"6107.1 Safety devices.\n\nSafety devices on LPG containers, equipment and systems shall not be tampered with or otherwise rendered inoperable and the service unsafe.\n\n6107.2 Smoking and other sources of ignition.\n\n\"No Smoking\" signs complying with the requirements of FC 310 shall be posted when required by the commissioner. Smoking is prohibited in accordance with FC Chapter 3. Control of other sources of ignition shall comply with the requirements of FC Chapter 3 and NFPA 58.\n\n6107.3 Clearance to combustibles.\n\nLPG containers shall be kept a minimum of 10 feet (3048 mm) from vegetation, rubbish and other combustible waste and combustible materials.\n\n6107.4 Protecting containers from vehicles.\n\nWhere exposed to vehicular damage due to proximity to alleys, driveways or parking areas or when required by the commissioner, LPG containers, regulators and piping shall be protected in accordance with FC 312.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","Title 29","Chapter 2: New York City Fire Code"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"379ff1dcdb7859835366d9adb8bc4fb0fa5b5c3423a70ed11be25cbfbfadbe31","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":true,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-6106","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-fc-6108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
