Code § FGC 405","heading":"Section FGC 405: Piping Bends and Changes in Direction","body":"405.1 General.\n\nChanges in direction of pipe shall be permitted to be made by the use of fittings, factory bends, or field bends.\n\n405.2 Metallic pipe.\n\nMetallic pipe bends shall comply with the following:\n\n1. Bends shall be made only with bending tools and procedures intended for that purpose.\n\n2. All bends shall be smooth and free from buckling, cracks or other evidence of mechanical damage.\n\n3. Bends shall be made only with seamless pipe.\n\n4. Pipe shall not be bent through an arc of more than 90 degrees (1.6 rad).\n\n5.
