No. 5-B\n\nBy Council Members Barron, Rosenthal, Brannan, Miller, Kallos, Ampry-Samuel, Chin and Eugene\n\nA Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring public information messaging on healthy eating.\n\nBe it enacted by the Council as follows:\n\n* * *\n\n[Consolidated provisions are not included in this Appendix A]\n\n* * *\n\n§ 2. For one year after the effective date of this local law, the department of health and mental hygiene shall educate food service establishments regarding the requirement of subdivision a of section 17-1507 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by section one of this local law.\n\n§ 3. This local law takes effect one year after it becomes law, except that:\n\n(i) subdivision c of section 17-1507 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by section one of this local law, shall take effect two years after it becomes law; and\n\n(ii) the department of health and mental hygiene shall take such actions as are necessary for the timely implementation of this local law, including the creation of public information messaging on healthy eating pursuant to the requirements of section one of this local law, and the promulgation of rules, prior to such effective date.","path":["New York City Administrative Code","2019"],"source_url":"https://files.amlegal.com/pdffiles/NewYorkCity/Admin/XML.zip","current_through":"Local Law 2026/135 (enacted August 31, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-06T02:48:57Z","sha256":"96a66614c570587c10a1d8db093134934580e18837e37bfef18c94255d30edd2","source_id":"us-nyc","stale":false,"prev":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-l.l.-2019-137","next":"us-nyc/n.y.c.-admin.-code-l.l.-2019-145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
