Code § 1309.618","heading":"Rights and duties of certain secondary obligors - UCC 9-618.","body":"(A) A secondary obligor acquires the rights and becomes obligated to perform the duties of the secured party after the secondary obligor:\n(1) Receives an assignment of a secured obligation from the secured party;\n(2) Receives a transfer of collateral from the secured party and agrees to accept the rights and assume the duties of the secured party; or\n(3) Is subrogated to the rights of a secured party with respect to collateral.\n(B) An assignment, transfer, or subrogation described in division (A) of this section:\n(1) Is not a disposition of collateral under section 1309.610 of the Revised Code; and\n(2) Relieves the secured party of further duties under this chapter.","path":["Title 13 Commercial Transactions","Chapter 1309 Secured Transactions"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-1309.618","current_through":"2001-07-01 (Senate Bill 74 - 124th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:29Z","sha256":"df7176be69a113228f0cbd836151dfd4db944a4ecbeec658717788bd7e37971f","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-1309.617","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-1309.619"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
