Code § 153.501","heading":"Subcontracts awarded by construction manager at risk, design-build firm, or general contracting firm; utilization of design-assist firm; self-performed portions of work.","body":"(A) A public authority may accept a subcontract awarded by a construction manager at risk, a design-build firm, or a general contracting firm, or may reject any such subcontract if the public authority determines that the bidder is not responsible.\n(B) A public authority may authorize a construction manager at risk or design-build firm to utilize a design-assist firm on any public improvement project without transferring any design liability to the design-assist firm.\n(C) If the construction manager at risk or design-build firm intends and is permitted by the public authority to self-perform a portion of the work to be performed, the construction manager at risk or design-build firm shall submit a sealed bid to the public authority for the portion of the work prior to accepting and opening any bids for the same work, except when the public authority requests a guaranteed maximum price proposal due at the time of selection.","path":["Title 1 State Government","Chapter 153 Public Improvements"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-153.501","current_through":"2025-09-30 (House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:25Z","sha256":"434f6bd7cb7f804e0d093ccc850a7c4f134134c746986156d88e6168b02c5869","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-153.50","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-153.502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
