Code § 1907.11","heading":"Number of judges.","body":"(A) Each county court district shall have the following county court judges, to be elected as follows:\nIn the Adams county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nUntil December 31, 2030, in the Ashtabula county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1980, and one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of division (C) of section 1907.13 of the Revised Code, the part-time judge to be elected in 2028 shall be elected for a term of two years commencing on January 1, 2029, and ending on December 31, 2030. The Ashtabula county county court part-time judgeships cease to exist on January 1, 2031. One full-time judge shall be elected in 2030, for a six-year term to commence on January 1, 2031. Effective January 1, 2031, notwithstanding division (A)(6) of section 141.04 of the Revised Code and division (A) of section 1907.16 of the Revised Code, the full-time judge of the Ashtabula county county court under this section shall receive the compensation set forth in division (A)(5) of section 141.04 of the Revised Code.\nIn the Belmont county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1992, term to commence on January 1, 1993, and two part-time judges shall be elected in 1994, terms to commence on January 1, 1995, and January 2, 1995, respectively.\nIn the Butler county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1992, term to commence on January 1, 1993, and two part-time judges shall be elected in 1994, terms to commence on January 1, 1995, and January 2, 1995, respectively.\nUntil December 31, 2007, in the Erie county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982. Effective January 1, 2008, the Erie county county court shall cease to exist.\nIn the Harrison county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Highland county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Jefferson county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1992, term to commence on January 1, 1993, and two part-time judges shall be elected in 1994, terms to commence on January 1, 1995, and January 2, 1995, respectively.\nIn the Mahoning county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1992, term to commence on January 1, 1993, and three part-time judges shall be elected in 1994, terms to commence on January 1, 1995, January 2, 1995, and January 3, 1995, respectively.\nIn the Meigs county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Monroe county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Morgan county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Muskingum county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1980, and one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Noble county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Pike county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Sandusky county county court, one full-time judge shall be elected in 2024, term to commence on January 2, 2025. Effective January 2, 2025, notwithstanding division (A)(6) of section 141.04 of the Revised Code and division (A) of section 1907.16 of the Revised Code, the full-time judge of the Sandusky county county court under this section shall receive the compensation set forth in division (A)(5) of section 141.04 of the Revised Code.\nIn the Trumbull county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1992, and one part-time judge shall be elected in 1994.\nIn the Tuscarawas county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Vinton county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\nIn the Warren county county court, one part-time judge shall be elected in 1980, and one part-time judge shall be elected in 1982.\n(B)(1) Additional judges shall be elected at the next regular election for a county court judge as provided in section 1907.13 of the Revised Code.\n(2) Vacancies caused by the death or the resignation from, forfeiture of, or removal from office of a judge shall be filled in accordance with section 107.08 of the Revised Code, except as provided in section 1907.15 of the Revised Code.","path":["Title 19 Courts-Municipal-Mayor's-County","Chapter 1907 County Court - General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-1907.11","current_through":"2024-10-24 (House Bill 301 - 135th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:30Z","sha256":"a019e91c2ad9fd41e8e1fd394130398e93ed0eebfbc3af58fd6d4bab6a47741d","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-1907.10","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-1907.13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
