Code § 2969.01","heading":"Recovery of offender's profits fund definitions.","body":"As used in sections 2969.01 to 2969.06 of the Revised Code:\n(A) \"Offender\" means a person who pleads guilty to, is convicted of, or is found not guilty by reason of insanity of an offense in this state or a person against whom a complaint or information has been filed or an indictment has been returned in this state.\n(B) \"Victim\" means a person who suffers personal injury, death, or property loss as a result of any of the following, or the beneficiaries of an action for the wrongful death of any person killed as a result of any of the following:\n(1) An offense;\n(2) The good faith effort of a person to prevent an offense;\n(3) The good faith effort of any person to apprehend a person suspected of engaging in an offense.\n(C) \"Member of the family of an offender\" means an individual who is related by consanguinity or affinity to an offender.","path":["Title 29 Crimes-Procedure","Chapter 2969 Recovery of Offender's Profits Fund; Crime Victims Recovery Fund"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-2969.01","current_through":"1995-11-15 (Senate Bill 91 - 121st General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"c2d37b101ae4354372467f8dde63cf4f1d959ddb7ea5d64aaff68c24e01f6e34","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-2967.29","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-2969.02"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
