Code § 3101.10","heading":"License to solemnize marriages.","body":"A minister upon producing to the secretary of state, credentials of the minister's being a regularly ordained or licensed minister of any religious society or congregation, shall be entitled to receive from the secretary of state a license authorizing the minister to solemnize marriages in this state so long as the minister continues as a regular minister in that society or congregation. A minister shall produce for inspection the minister's license to solemnize marriages upon demand of any party to a marriage at which the minister officiates or proposes to officiate or upon demand of any probate judge. The secretary of state shall issue a license to solemnize marriages in this state in accordance with Chapter 4796. of the Revised Code to a minister if either of the following applies:\n(A) The minister holds a license in another state.\n(B) The minister has satisfactory work experience, a government certification, or a private certification as described in that chapter as a minister who solemnizes marriages in a state that does not issue a license to solemnize marriages.","path":["Title 31 Domestic Relations-Children","Chapter 3101 Marriage"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3101.10","current_through":"2023-12-29 (Senate Bill 131 - 134th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"8c4275d58d2c92f25f8ff654fd6d4e68adce8ed5a7ef9634925649e6de1c3aed","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3101.09","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3101.11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
