Code § 3115.704","heading":"Initiation by support agency of support proceeding under convention.","body":"(A) In a support proceeding under sections 3115.701 to 3115.713 of the Revised Code, the support enforcement agency shall do both of the following:\n(1) Transmit and receive applications;\n(2) Initiate or facilitate the institution of a proceeding regarding an application in a court of this state.\n(B) The following support proceedings are available to an obligee under the convention:\n(1) Recognition or recognition and enforcement of a foreign support order;\n(2) Enforcement of a support order issued or recognized in this state;\n(3) Establishment of a support order if there is no existing order, including, if necessary, determination of parentage of a child;\n(4) Establishment of a support order if recognition of a foreign support order is refused under division (B)(2), (4), or (9) of section 3115.708 of the Revised Code;\n(5) Modification of a support order of a tribunal of this state;\n(6) Modification of a support order of a tribunal of another state or a foreign country.\n(C) The following support proceedings are available under the convention to an obligor against which there is an existing support order:\n(1) Recognition of an order suspending or limiting enforcement of an existing support order of a tribunal of this state;\n(2) Modification of a support order of a tribunal of this state;\n(3) Modification of a support order of a tribunal of another state or a foreign country.\n(D) A tribunal of this state may not require security, bond, or deposit, however described, to guarantee the payment of costs and expenses in proceedings under the convention.","path":["Title 31 Domestic Relations-Children","Chapter 3115 Uniform Interstate Family Support Act of 2008"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3115.704","current_through":"2016-01-01 (House Bill 64 - 131st General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"a6bc225933d175214b6780903fb574f359f87d2dfd3cb32b4beb21ed5ad58bff","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3115.703","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3115.705"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
