Code § 3129.03","heading":"Mental health care.","body":"(A) Notwithstanding section 5122.04 of the Revised Code, no mental health professional shall diagnose or treat a minor individual who presents for the diagnosis or treatment of a gender-related condition without first obtaining the consent of one of the following:\n(1) At least one parent of the minor individual;\n(2) At least one legal custodian of the minor individual;\n(3) The minor individual's guardian.\n(B) No mental health professional shall diagnose or treat a minor individual who presents for the diagnosis or treatment of a gender-related condition without screening the minor individual for both of the following during the course of diagnosis and treatment:\n(1) Other comorbidities that may be influencing the minor individual's gender-related condition, including depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and other mental health conditions;\n(2) Physical, sexual, mental, and emotional abuse and other traumas.","path":["Title 31 Domestic Relations-Children","Chapter 3129 Gender Transition Services for Minors"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3129.03","current_through":"2024-04-24 (House Bill 68 - 135th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"50665a1ee7cb58330a27cf1b3211d3e28b88792c23be23687207c1483f70c709","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3129.02","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3129.04"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
