Code § 3311.07","heading":"Change of classification upon advancement.","body":"When a local or exempted village school district contains within its territorial boundaries the major portion of the territory lying within the corporate limits of a village advanced to a city, such school district may be BY a majority vote of the full membership of such board of education, declare that such local or exempted village school district shall become a city school district, such change to become effective the next succeeding first day of July.\nIn the event a minor portion of the territory lying within the corporate limits of a village advanced to a city is contained within the territorial boundaries of a local or exempted village school district other than the school district containing the major portion of the territory lying within the corporate limits of such village, such territory shall remain a part of such local or exempted village school district until transferred to another school district.","path":["Title 33 Education-Libraries","Chapter 3311 School Districts; County Planning"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3311.07","current_through":"1973-11-21 (House Bill 336 - 110th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"c19aac5e73c928348c7ec04dd865c6d39a7e0d8cae5be8303efaa385b844743c","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3311.062","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3311.08"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
