{"data":{"id":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3313.941","jurisdiction":"us-oh","citation":"Ohio Rev. Code § 3313.941","heading":"Racial data collection for students to include multiracial category.","body":"(A) As used in this section, \"state agency\" means every organized body, office, or agency established by the laws or constitution of this state for the exercise of any function of state government.\n(B) Whenever a school district board of education collects racial data for the students enrolled in the school district or whenever the department of education and workforce or any other state agency collects or requires the collection and reporting of racial data for students enrolled in any chartered public or nonpublic school, the data collection shall include a multiracial category.\nFor the purpose of reporting student racial data required by the federal government, if the federal standards for reporting student racial data do not include a multiracial category, both of the following apply:\n(1) Students identified as multiracial for state or district purposes also shall be identified by an appropriate federal category.\n(2) The parent, guardian, or custodian of each student shall have the opportunity to designate the appropriate federal racial category for the student.","path":["Title 33 Education-Libraries","Chapter 3313 Boards of Education"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3313.941","current_through":"2023-10-03 (House Bill 33 - 135th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:32Z","sha256":"2bdd168bf4500148439ca965e4110732df7d0846b43e0e7da2d973a3b4ceab91","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3313.93","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3313.95"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
