Code § 3376.04","heading":"Additional prohibitions regarding use of name, image, or likeness.","body":"No state institution of higher education, private college, athletic association, conference, or other group or organization with authority over intercollegiate athletics shall do any of the following:\n(A) Prevent a student-athlete from earning compensation for use of the student-athlete's name, image, or likeness if the student-athlete earns that compensation in accordance with this chapter;\n(B) Prevent a student-athlete from obtaining professional representation from an athlete agent or attorney;\n(C) Interfere with or prevent a student-athlete from fully participating in intercollegiate athletics because the student-athlete obtains professional representation from an athlete agent or attorney.\n(D) Enter into, renew, or modify any agreement that prohibits a student-athlete from earning compensation for use of the student-athlete's name, image, or likeness while the student-athlete is engaged in activities that do not relate to academic, athletic department, or official team activities.","path":["Title 33 Education-Libraries","Chapter 3376 Collegiate Student Athletes"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3376.04","current_through":"2025-04-03 (House Bill 315 - 135th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:33Z","sha256":"9d1c40b6f7ef086e9e72ffab80b7853335af6bb64d550154241a58c86e2c1ea1","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3376.03","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3376.06"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
