Code § 3727.182","heading":"[Former R.C. 3727.18, amended and renumbered by H.B. 452, 135th General Assembly, effective 4/9/2025] Notice regarding abuse or assault of hospital staff.","body":"(A) All hospitals shall post the notice described in division (B) of this section in accordance with this division. The notice may be posted in print or a digital sign format. Each hospital shall consider posting the notice in a conspicuous location in all of the following areas:\n(1) Major waiting room areas, including the waiting room areas of the emergency department, the labor and delivery department, the surgical department or unit, and the intensive care unit;\n(2) The main entrance to the hospital;\n(3) Any other area that the hospital determines to be appropriate.\n(B) A notice posted pursuant to division (A) of this section shall include the following , either as stated in this division or by using similar wording:\n\"WE WILL NOT TOLERATE\nany form of threatening or\naggressive behavior\ntoward our staff.\nAssaults against our staff are serious violations\nand could result in consequences, including a felony conviction.\nAll staff have the right to carry out\ntheir work without fearing for their safety.\"","path":["Title 37 Health-Safety-Morals","Chapter 3727 Hospitals"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3727.182","current_through":"2025-04-09 (House Bill 452 - 135th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:34Z","sha256":"2a3c002fef21e969af57ff77df6b2c4df62ebd857de300c2e9d28d6c29c2ebb7","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3727.181","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3727.19"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
