Code § 3727.50","heading":"Hospital nursing staff definitions.","body":"As used in this section and sections 3727.51 to 3727.57 of the Revised Code:\n(A) \"Direct patient care\" means care provided by a nurse with direct responsibility to carry out medical regimens or nursing care for one or more patients.\n(B) \"Inpatient care unit\" means a hospital unit, including an operating room or other inpatient care area, in which nursing care is provided to patients who have been admitted to the hospital.\n(C) \"Nurse\" means a person who is licensed to practice as a registered nurse under Chapter 4723. of the Revised Code or, if the hospital employs licensed practical nurses, a person who is licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse under that chapter.","path":["Title 37 Health-Safety-Morals","Chapter 3727 Hospitals"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3727.50","current_through":"2008-09-12 (House Bill 346 - 127th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:34Z","sha256":"0767287a604b3e88b9d0a3c1de887540b44bf908899b5827b97a7fb430aebdd7","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3727.49","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-3727.51"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
