Code § 4731.911","heading":"Physician responsibilities in a non-hospital setting.","body":"(A) As used in this section:\n(1) \"Ambulatory surgical facility\" has the same meaning as in section 3702.30 of the Revised Code.\n(2) \"Hospital\" means a hospital registered with the department of health under section 3701.07 of the Revised Code.\n(B) A physician who performs or attempts an abortion in an ambulatory surgical facility or other location that is not a hospital and in which a child is born alive shall immediately take the following steps upon the child's birth:\n(1) Provide post-birth care to the newborn in accordance with prevailing and acceptable standards of care;\n(2) Call for assistance from an emergency medical services provider;\n(3) Arrange for the transfer of the newborn to a hospital.","path":["Title 47 Occupations-Professions","Chapter 4731 Physicians; Limited Practitioners"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4731.911","current_through":"2022-03-23 (Senate Bill 157 - 134th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:37Z","sha256":"8ac2e9fdcf4935585b37e4237d7afbebf8ebbc77267c903233ce0c837da6083d","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4731.91","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4731.92"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
