Code § 4758.56","heading":"Authority of counselor III license holder.","body":"(A) In addition to practicing substance use disorder counseling, an individual holding a valid chemical dependency counselor III license may do all of the following:\n(1) Diagnose substance use disorder conditions under the supervision of any of the professionals listed in section 4758.561 of the Revised Code;\n(2) Treat substance use disorder conditions;\n(3) Perform treatment planning, assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case management, and education services as they relate to abuse of and dependency on alcohol and other drugs;\n(4) Provide clinical supervision of substance use disorder counseling under the supervision of any of the professionals listed in section 4758.561 of the Revised Code;\n(5) Refer individuals with non-substance use disorder conditions to appropriate sources of help.\n(B) A chemical dependency counselor III may not practice as an individual practitioner.","path":["Title 47 Occupations-Professions","Chapter 4758 Chemical Dependency Professionals"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4758.56","current_through":"2025-09-30 (House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:38Z","sha256":"e6ac3fc8e7fb202de710497fe665347e4e861b018d45d71ab13025cc03dc5209","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4758.55","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4758.561"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
