Code § 4778.02","heading":"License required.","body":"(A)(1) Except as provided in division (B) of this section, no person shall practice as a genetic counselor unless the person holds a current, valid license to practice as a genetic counselor issued under this chapter.\n(2) No person shall use the title \"genetic counselor,\" or otherwise hold the person out as a genetic counselor, unless the person holds a current, valid license to practice as a genetic counselor issued under this chapter.\n(B) Division (A)(1) of this section does not apply to either of the following:\n(1) A student performing an activity as part of a genetic counseling graduate program described in division (B)(2) of section 4778.03 of the Revised Code;\n(2) A person who is authorized pursuant to another provision of the Revised Code to perform any of the activities that a genetic counselor is authorized to perform.","path":["Title 47 Occupations-Professions","Chapter 4778 Genetic Counselors"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4778.02","current_through":"2021-10-09 (House Bill 263 - 133rd General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:38Z","sha256":"a2384f2ae48f9b0684b4595d306ffb3779b8af606f763ffe1a845713b4a22d7b","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4778.01","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4778.03"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
