Code § 4796.08","heading":"Examinations; background checks; financial responsibility; federal requirements.","body":"(A) If a licensing authority requires an applicant to pass an examination on this state's laws and rules governing the applicable profession, occupation, or occupational activity to receive a license or government certification under the applicable law, a licensing authority may require an applicant to pass the examination to receive a license or government certification under this chapter.\n(B) If a licensing authority requires an applicant under the law governing the applicable profession, occupation, or occupational activity to submit to a criminal records check to receive a license or government certification, the licensing authority shall require an applicant to submit to the criminal records check to receive a license or government certification under this chapter.\n(C) If a licensing authority requires an applicant under the law governing the applicable profession, occupation, or occupational activity to satisfy a financial responsibility requirement to receive a license or government certification, the licensing authority shall require an applicant to satisfy the requirement to receive a license or government certification under this chapter.\n(D) If a federal law, rule, or regulation requires the state to impose a requirement on an applicant with which the applicant must comply to receive a license or government certification as a condition for the state to receive federal funding, the licensing authority may require an applicant to satisfy that requirement to receive a license or government certification under this chapter.","path":["Title 47 Occupations-Professions","Chapter 4796 Occupational Licenses for Out-of-State Applicants"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4796.08","current_through":"2023-12-29 (Senate Bill 131 - 134th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:38Z","sha256":"e7ede4631b8b6cd3c827980ab4dbd4c69762e1d075a1b05c67788181c3ead795","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4796.05","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4796.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
