Code § 4928.103","heading":"Rules for changing electric supplier using valid identification.","body":"(A) As used in this section, \"customer account information\" means a unique electric distribution utility number or other customer identification number used by the utility to identify a customer and the customer's account record.\n(B) The public utilities commission shall adopt rules to ensure that an electric distribution utility processes a customer's change in competitive retail electric supplier by using customer account information. A customer who consents to a change of supplier shall not be required to provide customer account information to the supplier if the customer provides a valid form of government-issued identification issued to the customer or a sufficient alternative form of identification that allows the supplier to establish the customer's identity accurately.\n(C) Notwithstanding any provision of section 121.95 of the Revised Code to the contrary, a regulatory restriction contained in a rule adopted under this section is not subject to sections 121.95 to 121.953 of the Revised Code.","path":["Title 49 Public Utilities","Chapter 4928 Competitive Retail Electric Service"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4928.103","current_through":"2025-08-14 (House Bill 15 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:39Z","sha256":"3d5ced13f7eb2ba9719ddbd51c71e9f5a5ecd2569a0f9dfbe71ce9c2993475ac","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4928.102","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4928.104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
