Code § 4929.222","heading":"Rules for changing natural gas supplier using valid identification.","body":"(A) As used in this section, \"customer account information\" means a unique natural gas company number or other customer identification number used by the company to identify a customer and the customer's account record.\n(B) The public utilities commission shall adopt rules to ensure that a natural gas company processes a customer's change in competitive retail natural gas supplier by using customer account information. A customer who consents to a change of supplier shall not be required to provide customer account information to the supplier if the customer provides a valid form of government-issued identification issued to the customer or a sufficient alternative form of identification that allows the supplier to establish the customer's identity accurately.\n(C) Notwithstanding any provision of section 121.95 of the Revised Code to the contrary, a regulatory restriction contained in a rule adopted under this section is not subject to sections 121.95 to 121.953 of the Revised Code.","path":["Title 49 Public Utilities","Chapter 4929 Alternate Rate Plan For Natural Gas Companies; Certification Of Governmental Aggregators And Retail Natural Gas Suppliers"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4929.222","current_through":"2025-08-14 (House Bill 15 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:39Z","sha256":"1eb1a993ea8138a530315d84085520db33d232e4663b84b8fd64fa835fda40cf","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4929.221","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-4929.23"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
