Code § 5119.77","heading":"Reimbursable expenses.","body":"(A) Subject to division (B) of this section, a public safety officer with a post-traumatic stress injury without an accompanying physical injury caused by, and arising out of, the officer's employment as a public safety officer is entitled to reimbursement from the state post-traumatic stress fund for any out-of-pocket costs for the treatment of the injury. Reimbursable expenses include out-of-pocket costs for all of the following:\n(1) Initial diagnosis;\n(2) Counseling or therapy;\n(3) Medication;\n(4) Mental health facility expenses;\n(5) In-patient or out-patient treatment.\n(B) Reimbursement for out-of-pocket treatment costs shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars unless both of the following apply:\n(1) The officer seeking additional reimbursement provides proof of out-of-pocket expenses above fifty thousand dollars in the officer's application.\n(2) The commission determines that the requested additional reimbursement is available in the fund.","path":["Title 51 Public Welfare","Chapter 5119 Department of Behavioral Health"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-5119.77","current_through":"2026-09-23 (House Bill 479 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:39Z","sha256":"092e565336c14cce4c83f73b0d957d55d759afbdaaa7500dcead48d807a9d9f5","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5119.76","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5119.78"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
