Code § 5180.402","heading":"[Former R.C. 5101.132, amended and renumbered by H.B. 96, 136th General Assembly, effective 9/30/2025] Uniform statewide automated child welfare information system - access to information.","body":"(A) Information contained in the information system established and maintained under section 5180.40 of the Revised Code may be accessed or entered only as follows:\n(1) The department of job and family services, the department of children and youth, a public children services agency, a title IV-E agency, a prosecuting attorney, a private child placing agency, and a private noncustodial agency may access or enter the information when either of the following is the case:\n(a) The access or entry is directly connected with assessment, investigation, or services regarding a child or family;\n(b) The access or entry is permitted by state or federal law, rule, or regulation.\n(2) A person may access or enter the information in a manner, to the extent, and for the purposes authorized by rules adopted by the department.\n(B) As used in this section, \"title IV-E agency\" means a public children services agency or a public entity with which the department of job and family services or department of children and youth has a title IV-E subgrant agreement in effect.","path":["Title 51 Public Welfare","Chapter 5180 Department of Children and Youth"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-5180.402","current_through":"2025-09-30 (House Bill 96 - 136th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:40Z","sha256":"3e8f77b338245cf469d5abee602b1fb6fc5233dabfceae08ab150233167ed6e6","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5180.401","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5180.403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
