Code § 5901.16","heading":"Application or petition for veterans plot in cemetery.","body":"Upon application in writing by a veterans organization in any municipal corporation or township, or upon a petition in writing by five or more veterans in any municipal corporation or township where no veterans organization exists, the veterans service commission of any county shall purchase or provide a veterans plot in any cemetery in such county or municipal corporation where no burial plot is provided, for the burial, removal, and reinterment of the bodies of neglected and indigent veterans.\nThe expense of such purchase shall be filed with and audited by the county auditor, who shall issue a warrant for it upon the county treasurer, who shall pay such warrant from the general fund of the county.","path":["Title 59 Veterans-Military Affairs","Chapter 5901 Veterans' Services Commissions"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-5901.16","current_through":"1988-09-14 (House Bill 626 - 117th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:42Z","sha256":"b8f46b512f66d582c13ded56dcd2a7f665bfc2bf7a5abe0fd99a859c23647d36","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5901.15","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-5901.17"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
