Code § 901.54","heading":"Office of farmland preservation.","body":"There is hereby created the office of farmland preservation within the department of agriculture. The office shall do all of the following:\n(A) Prepare guidelines and criteria for use in the development of comprehensive local land use plans that encourage the efficient use of public infrastructure and the preservation of farmland;\n(B) Establish a farmland preservation program to coordinate and assist local farmland preservation initiatives;\n(C) Educate existing agencies and organizations on the importance of farmland preservation and on the significance of agriculture and agribusiness to this state's economy;\n(D) Serve as a liaison with other farmland preservation entities operating on a state, regional, or national level;\n(E) Prepare an inventory of farmland within this state to monitor the development of lands within this state having prime soils or unique microclimates.","path":["Title 9 Agriculture-Animals-Fences","Chapter 901 Department Of Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-901.54","current_through":"2012-06-11 (House Bill 487 - 129th General Assembly)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:24:28Z","sha256":"59422ce41babac1b3fc5fedb5737b3c88746145f7ef6fd2729580425bc95749c","source_id":"us-oh","stale":false,"prev":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-901.53","next":"us-oh/ohio-rev.-code-901.61"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
