Stat. tit. 1, § 1-25","heading":"Abstractors Board - Powers and duties","body":"In performing the duties imposed pursuant to the Oklahoma\n\nAbstractors Act, the Oklahoma Abstractors Board shall have the\n\nfollowing powers and duties:\n\n1. To prescribe, promulgate, implement and enforce rules and\n\nmake such orders as deemed necessary to implement all the provisions\n\nof the Oklahoma Abstractors Act including the duties imposed in this\n\nsection;\n\n2. To hold examinations for applicants for abstract licenses;\n\n3. To issue abstract licenses, certificates of authority, and\n\npermits in such form as deemed appropriate;\n\n4. To issue abstract licenses and certificates of authority to\n\nnonresidents, associations, corporations, and partnerships;\n\n5. To suspend, revoke, or reinstate abstract licenses and\n\ncertificates of authority previously issued, upon good cause shown;\n\n6. To reprimand, place on probation, or require additional\n\neducation of licensees and certificate holders upon good cause\n\nshown;\n\n7. To establish administrative penalties and fines as provided\n\nfor in Section 227.22 of this title for failure to furnish an\n\nabstract, abstract extension, supplemental abstract or final title\n\nreport;\n\n8. To prescribe and impose such administrative penalties and\n\nfines as deemed proper to be assessed against licensees and\n\ncertificate holders for the failure to pay the renewal fees or for\n\nthe violation or noncompliance with any provision of the Oklahoma\n\nAbstractors Act or rule or order of the Oklahoma Abstractors Board;\n\n9. To cause the prosecution of any person who violates any of\n\nthe provisions of the Oklahoma Abstractors Act;\n\n10. To promulgate such rules and regulations governing the\n\napproval of organizations offering courses of study in real estate\n\nas are necessary for the administration of the Oklahoma Abstractors\n\nAct;\n\n11. To establish minimum standards to be followed in the\n\npreparation of abstracts;\n\n12. To establish a schedule of fees for applications for or\n\nrenewals of certificates of authority, abstract licenses, or\n\npermits;\n\n13. To establish the amount of the bond to be filed with\n\napplications for abstract licenses, certificates of authority, or\n\npermits;\n\n14. To approve fee schedules of holders of certificates of\n\nauthority, set criteria for determining what constitutes an\n\nexcessive fee, and impose administrative penalties and fines for\n\nviolations of approved fee schedules;\n\n15. To deposit all fees and fines collected to the credit of\n\nthe Oklahoma Abstractors Board Fund;\n\n16. To confer with and seek legal assistance from the Office of\n\nthe Attorney General whenever deemed appropriate by the Board; and\n\n17. To have a seal which shall be affixed to all certificates\n\nof authority, abstract licenses, certified copies of documents on\n\nfile, and such other instruments as the Board may direct, and all\n\ncourts shall take judicial notice of the seal, and copies of records\n\nand proceedings of the Board and all documents filed with the Board\n\nand certified under seal shall be received as evidence in all courts\n\nof record.","path":["OK Code","Title 1"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os1.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"10f614e15dd1c43b2c3c88f923c7ef92f1ff569bed894d7536aff0a4e3679a40","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-1-1-24","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-1-1-26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
