Stat. tit. 1, § 1-38","heading":"Qualifications for issuance of license - Term of license -","body":"License fee.\n\nA. An abstract license shall be issued by the Oklahoma\n\nAbstractors Board to an applicant who:\n\n1. Is eighteen (18) years of age or older;\n\n2. Is of good moral character;\n\n3. Has not been convicted of or pleaded guilty or nolo\n\ncontendere to a felony or crime of moral turpitude or disqualifying\n\noffense that substantially relates to the practice of abstracting or\n\nposes a reasonable threat to public safety in this state, another\n\nstate, or a federal court; and\n\n4. Has passed a test for abstractors required by the Board.\n\nB. Each abstract license shall be valid for one (1) year. The\n\nBoard shall set the fees for an abstract license and for renewal not\n\nto exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00).\n\nC. As used in this section:\n\n1. \"Poses a reasonable threat\" means the nature of criminal\n\nconduct for which the person was convicted involved an act or threat\n\nof harm against another and has a bearing on the fitness or ability\n\nto serve the public or work with others in the occupation; and\n\n2. \"Substantially relates\" means the nature of criminal conduct\n\nfor which the person was convicted has a direct bearing on the\n\nfitness or ability to perform one or more of the duties or\n\nresponsibilities necessarily related to the occupation.","path":["OK Code","Title 1"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os1.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"873c1c550c82fe3a810ea9ef5733b07766200250ae75a1cc950af17a84417ffd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-1-1-37","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-1-1-39"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
