Beginning November 1, 2019, and subject to the availability\n\nof funds, the Director of the Bureau of Vital Statistics shall,\n\nwithin seventy-two (72) hours of receipt of notice of any child\n\ndeath, forward the name, date of birth, date of death and other\n\nidentifying information about the child who has died to the Oklahoma\n\nCommission on Children and Youth. The Commission shall submit the\n\ninformation for a child maltreatment medical review to a child abuse\n\nexaminer or a child abuse pediatrician in the state.\n\nB. The findings of the child maltreatment medical review shall\n\nbe reported to the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, the\n\nDepartment of Human Services, the law enforcement agency and the\n\nchild advocacy center or child abuse multidisciplinary team where\n\nthe suspected maltreatment occurred and the Child Death Review\n\nBoard. The findings of the child maltreatment medical review shall\n\nbe considered prior to closing an investigation or assessment\n\nconducted by the Department of Human Services related to the child\n\ndeath.\n\nC. Subject to the availability of funds, the Commission may\n\nprovide stipends to child abuse examiners who perform child\n\nmaltreatment medical reviews and report their findings pursuant to\n\nthis section.\n\nD. As used in this section, \"child maltreatment medical review\"\n\nmeans a review of information by a child abuse examiner about\n\nsuspected child maltreatment with the intent to determine if\n\nmaltreatment occurred.
