Stat. tit. 10, § 10-1430.4","heading":"Group Homes for Persons with Developmental or Physical","body":"Disabilities Advisory Board.\n\nA. There is hereby re-created to continue until July 1, 2020,\n\nin accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the\n\nGroup Homes for Persons with Developmental or Physical Disabilities\n\nAdvisory Board.\n\n1. The Advisory Board shall be composed of nine (9) members as\n\nfollows:\n\na. eight members, appointed by the Director of Human\n\nServices, one of whom shall be a representative of the\n\nOklahoma Community Based Providers Association, one a\n\nrepresentative of United Cerebral Palsy of Oklahoma,\n\none a representative of the State Council on\n\nDevelopmental Disabilities who is not a state\n\nemployee, two who shall be group home directors having\n\na minimum of two (2) years of experience as a group\n\nhome director, and three who shall be consumers or\n\nconsumer advocates, one of whom is the parent of a\n\nperson having a developmental disability. These\n\nappointed members shall each serve a three-year term\n\nand may be reappointed, and\n\nb. one member shall be the State Fire Marshal, or a\n\ndesignee who shall serve at the pleasure of the State\n\nFire Marshal.\n\n2. The Advisory Board shall annually elect a chair, a vice-\n\nchair and a secretary and shall meet at least quarterly and at such\n\nother times as may be necessary. All meetings of the Advisory Board\n\nshall be subject to the provisions of the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act.\n\nMembers of the Advisory Board shall not receive compensation for\n\ntheir services but shall be reimbursed pursuant to the provisions of\n\nthe State Travel Reimbursement Act.\n\n3. The Department of Human Services shall appoint an employee\n\nto serve as a resource person and provide assistance to the Advisory\n\nBoard.\n\nB. The Advisory Board shall have the power and duty to:\n\n1. Serve as an advisory body to the Department for the\n\ndevelopment and improvement of services to and care and treatment of\n\nresidents of group homes subject to the provisions of the Group\n\nHomes for Persons with Developmental or Physical Disabilities Act;\n\n2. Review, make recommendations regarding, and approve in its\n\nadvisory capacity the system of standards developed by the\n\nDepartment;\n\n3. Evaluate and review the standards, practices, and procedures\n\nof the Department regarding the administration and enforcement of\n\nthe provisions of the Group Homes for Persons with Developmental or\n\nPhysical Disabilities Act and the quality of services and care and\n\ntreatment provided to residents of group homes, and may make\n\nrecommendations to the Department as necessary and appropriate; and\n\n4. Serve as an advisory body to the Department regarding the\n\nimplementation of any nationally recognized accreditation standards,\n\nas they apply to community-based facilities and services adopted by\n\nthe Commission for Human Services as standards for the provision of\n\nservices to persons with developmental or physical disabilities who\n\nreceive services through the Department of Human Services.\n\nC.
