Stat. tit. 10, § 10-1505","heading":"Employment of persons to provide juvenile officer or","body":"assistant juvenile officer services in certain counties.\n\nA. 1. As provided by this subsection, the presiding or\n\nassociate district judge or other judge with juvenile or deprived\n\nchild docket responsibilities, with the approval of the county\n\ncommissioners, may employ a juvenile officer or an assistant\n\njuvenile officer or contract with a court-appointed special advocate\n\nprogram to provide juvenile officer or assistant juvenile officer\n\nservices.\n\n2. In counties having a population in excess of twenty-four\n\nthousand (24,000), the presiding or associate district judge, with\n\nthe approval of the county commissioners, may:\n\na. employ one juvenile officer for the respective county,\n\nor\n\nb. contract with a court-appointed special advocate\n\nprogram to provide such services.\n\n3. In counties having a population in excess of forty thousand\n\n(40,000), the presiding or associate district judge, with the\n\napproval of the county commissioners, may:\n\na. employ one juvenile officer and one assistant juvenile\n\nofficer for the respective county, or\n\nb. contract with a court-appointed special advocate\n\nprogram to provide such services.\n\nB. 1. If employed:\n\na. the salary of the juvenile officer shall be not less\n\nthan sixty percent (60%) nor more than ninety percent\n\n(90%) of Class A officers of the county, and\n\nb. the salary of the assistant juvenile officer shall be\n\nnot less than sixty percent (60%) nor more than eighty\n\npercent (80%) of Class A officers of the county. Such\n\nsalaries shall be paid from county funds.\n\n2. The juvenile officer and assistant juvenile officer shall be\n\nentitled to reimbursement for all traveling expenses incurred in the\n\nperformance of official duties. Such expenses shall be paid upon\n\nsworn itemized claims. When transportation involves the use of the\n\nprivate automobile of the juvenile officer or assistant juvenile\n\nofficer, such officer shall be entitled to claim reimbursement for\n\nuse thereof at the rate provided for state employees under the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act. Such reimbursement shall be from county\n\nfunds.\n\nC. 1. If the county contracts with a court-appointed special\n\nadvocate program:\n\na. the county may allow program employees to participate\n\nin all county employee benefit programs including, but\n\nnot limited to, health care plans, and\n\nb. the county may provide adequate office space for the\n\ncourt-appointed special advocate program.\n\n2. Participation in any county benefit program or the provision\n\nof office space shall be included in the contract with the court-\n\nappointed special advocate program.\n\nD. Any juvenile officer and assistant juvenile officer shall\n\nserve at the pleasure of the court.\n\nE.
